VSP Technologies has launched a first-of-its-kind Fluid Sealing Leak Prevention Program called SpecTight™. DEMI US – Houston is the first Tank Container Repair and Testing Facility to earn this Certification by undertaking a rigorous training and traceability program aimed at zero shop and operational deficiencies.
In an effort to raise the industry bar, Paul Rouleau challenged Steve Benet and VSP Technologies to create a comprehensive real-world Leak Prevention Program they could implement as a standard operating practice. Paul’s biggest requirement, “it must raise the bar, be an all- inclusive program, and have teeth!” VSP and DEMI collaborated to bring this certification into DEMI’s everyday operations, creating efficiencies and the highest level of quality control to prevent leaks from occurring when Intermodal equipment is then operated by their clients.
All DEMI technicians have passed a lengthy classroom and practical examination to ensure compliance with IMDG and DOT regulations regarding bolted flange connections and long-term reliability and functionality. SpecTight™ is an evergreen certification with periodic equipment inspections by VSP personnel, ensuring compliance with accurate assembly, documented torque instructions, material traceability, and leak-free operations on 100% of the equipment that is maintained by DEMI US – Houston.
