Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant role is involved in all areas of accounting. The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for journal entries, reconciliations, financial statement analysis, sales and use tax filings, collections, and special projects.

Essential Functions

  • Record various journal entries
  • Balance Sheet reconciliation (ex: bank, intercompany, accruals, prepaids, payroll accruals, etc.)
  • Fluctuation analysis of general ledger activity to validate accuracy and completeness of financial statements
  • Support accounting month-end close process
  • Supportive team member for both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
  • Prepare various financial reports
  • Support audits (internal, external, etc.)
  • Manage sales and use tax process including filings and payments
  • Prepare annual 1099 tax filings
  • Prepare ad hoc requests and projects as needed
  • Maintain a favorable working relationship with all company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximize employee morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness
  • Project a favorable image of the company to promote, foster, and enhance public recognition of the company and its products and services

Required Experience / Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Minimum of five years of experience in accounting
  • Minimum of five years of Balance Sheet reconciliation experience
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Minimum of five years of experience with ERP’s (Sage 500 preferred but not required)
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
