Inventory Control Coordinator – Prince George, VA

The Inventory Control Coordinator position coordinates activities related to inventory, including but not limited to movement, reconciling, stocking, and replenishing goods received and sold by the company. Serves as the cycle counting point for the company.

Essential Functions

  • Plan, organize, direct, manage, and evaluate the inventory management activities of the branch
  • Monitor inventory levels and inventory movement using the current ERP system to ensure accurate stock levels, update levels if necessary and address stagnant inventory
  • Develop and communicate inventory management policies and procedures (examples: inv. Pulling, barcode scanners, shelf-life policy, disposal policy, etc.)
  • Monitor, reconcile and maintain consigned inventory and requests for the restocking of those inventories
  • Maintain, develop and train part number logic and creation for new and existing product lines
  • Conduct investigations into inventory management incidents to verify and resolve complaints
  • Assist in evaluating, approving, and on-boarding new inventory
  • Respond to the various departments within the organization that may need information regarding products/inventory/remnant availability
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of barcodes scanners company-wide
  • Support turn-rate initiatives company-wide by routine inventory/sales evaluation
  • Coordinate corporate cycle count activities and maintain all reporting associated
  • Assist in inbound inspection and put-away of inventory
  • Assist in maintaining shop cleanliness with regards to the inventory areas
  • Ensure that all inventoried items have appropriate bin locations within the system and the physical bin labels in the shop
  • Maintain a favorable working relationship with all company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate that will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness
  • Project a favorable image of the company to promote, foster, and enhance public recognition of the company and its products and services. Includes professional appearance/attire suitable for this position

Required Experience / Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Purchasing and inventory control experience

Preferred Experience / Education

  • Extensive sales and inventory management experience in the manufacturing/distribution industry
  • Inventory management certificate of some sort preferred (example: CPIM)
